Andy is a private practice dietitian, blogger and author from Toronto, Canada. He graduated with a Master’s degree in public health nutrition from the University of Toronto Dalla Lana School Of Public Health in 2014 and went on to work at Diabetes Canada before pursuing a career in private practice. He has since published 6 books on various nutrition topics, with more on the way. Andy credits his success to a joint commitment to blogging and social media, using both in tandem to increase his visibility and demonstrate expertise and competence in various nutrition topics.

What Is The Book (Or Books) You’ve Given Most As A Gift, And Why?

Since I've written seven books, it's probably my own books that I've given most as a gift- for obvious reason hehe. The books with the biggest influence on my life, I'd say the Lord Of The Rings trilogy for its pure brilliance but even more so the Count Of Monte Cristo which is the ultimate story of redemption which I resonate with greatly.

I remind myself who I am to make proud with what I do.

What are bad recommendations you hear in your profession or area of expertise?

Cutting out your favourite foods - that never works!

In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?

Dabbling with intermittent fasting and cold showers has been fun - but generally I've taken my work more seriously over the last five years - including via social media - which has helped tremendously.

How Has A Failure, Or Apparent Failure, Set You Up For Later Success?

Starting my own business, I went through more ups and downs than I care to share but it has made it all the more worth it in the end.

I'm a registered dietitian and I help people re-frame how they think about and use food to improve all aspects of their health and quality of life

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Professional football player or player agent at the very least.

Where do you see your industry in the next 5 years?

Increasingly online and app based.

My dad, selfless.

Any pro footballer, due to the dedication it requires

Investing time in writing, blogging and Instagram! Oh and my health 😉

To be kind to strangers.

Taking a cold shower?
