When You Feel Overwhelmed Or Unfocused, Or Have Lost Your Focus Temporarily, What Do You Do?

My favourite thing to do when I'm feeling overwhelmed or a little lost is to go to the beach but in the UK it's not so easy. If the sun's out I love to go for a walk and if it's not I'll do an hour or so of exercise at home or at the gym to shift any unwanted energy.

In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?

To have faith. My partner and I both work in competitive creative industries and he has a saying that always resonates with me when I'm working towards something 'clarity of vision and blind faith'. I always have a clear vision of what I want but I struggle to have faith that'll it all work out. Focusing on the last bit of that saying has helped me a lot.

If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it — what would it say and why?

My favourite quote is 'don't let perfect be the enemy of good work'. I have to remind myself of this all the time and if I saw it on a big billboard in central London it would definitely make me smile.

Tell us about your business. What does it do and what value do you add?

I wouldn't call it a business but I have a small recipe blog called a blue border. I've become a little bit obsessed with learning to bake vegan and gluten-free and the blog is my creative output for that.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I'd be keen to have a go at working as a producer. I've worked on lots of photography and video sets and I love planning things so it's something I think I'd be good at.

How do you feel about artificial meat products and its role in vegan/vegetarian-ism's growth in the coming years?

I think they're essential. It's not really my cup of tea but for people who don't have desire or the time to learn to cook vegan they make veganism way more accessible and appealing.

Are you vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian or something else entirely?

I'm Vegan.

If you could only do ONE type of exercise for the all around fitness what would it be?

HIIT for sure. The Les Mills Grit classes are THE best HIIT training I've ever done.

What's your favourite vegan meal?

Oh gosh - this is a hard one! I cook for a living and I get bored with my own food fast so I hardly ever make the same thing twice. I wouldn't say I have a specific favourite vegan meal but the best vegan meals are packed with flavour, contain seasonal ingredients and have a good balance of seasoning and texture (I hate mushy vegan meals).

What is one of the best or most worthwhile investments you’ve ever made?

The traveling I've done. Especially now in the last year when traveling has become impossible. I did lots of traveling in my early 20s and I'm so grateful for that.

When did you first become a rebel?

Never! Haha I love rules and plans and organisation.

What advice would you give to a smart, driven college student about to enter the “real world”? What advice should they ignore?

Contact as many people as possible that are doing the job you want to do and ask them if and how you can help them and keep emailing until you get a response. If you have no experience at all be very careful about working for free. You'll need to weigh up the balance of what you can offer them and what they can offer you but everyone deserves to be paid for their work.

What careers advice would you give to your 21-year old self?

It took me a long to pinpoint what I wanted to do and I really had to go through the motions of that so my advice would be to just keep going, keep trying different things and don't give up on something because someone else does it better than you.

What's your favourite colour?

Green

What's your favourite holiday destination?

Literally anywhere sunny, with a beach and lots of nature.

What's your favourite type of exercise?

HIIT, yoga, barre and swimming

What did you have for breakfast this morning?

Tofu scramble on homemade gluten-free. bread.
