The Best 5 Vegan Crisps That You Can Eat
Which Crisps Are Vegan?
There are lots of vegan options when it comes to plant-based snacking. That’s why we’ve written a guide on the best vegan biscuits in the UK.
But what if you fancy something savoury? Well, crisps are a great option.
Crisps are an excellent snack when you’re in the mood for some savoury, salty and crunchy goodness. They come in hundreds of different textures and flavours (including the questionable M&S Winter Berries & Prosecco crisps).
But the real question we all want to know the answer to is…which crisps are vegan!?
I know you guys are busy and probably don’t want to spend an evening researching vegan crisps, so I’ve done the work for you! (Aren’t I nice?)
It’s a fascinating list; there are even meat-flavoured vegan crisps available!
I’m astonished.
Let’s dive in.

1. Doritos

Number 1 on our list of vegan crisps is Dorito’s! A firm favourite across the UK, whether you are plant-based or not!
In fact, Doritos are the world’s most popular tortilla chips!
The base ingredient in Doritos is corn. Doritos are fried with vegetable oil, which is great for anyone interested in vegan crisps (given that corn and vegetable oil are both plant-based).
Dorito’s Vegan Crisps Flavours:
- Doritos Lightly Salted
- Doritos Chilli Heatwave
- Doritos Heatburst BBQ & Chilli
If you want to level up your vegan crisps game, it’s your lucky day.
You can create an AWESOME nacho dish by putting some lightly salted Doritos on an oven-safe dish, pile it up with a bit of vegan salsa and vegan cheese that melts (not all vegan cheese melts when heated). Heat it under the grill until the cheese melts. Then top it with some pickled jalapenos. You’re welcome.
2. Walkers Crisps
Source: Amazon
Walkers crisps can be found pretty much EVERYWHERE that sells crisps in the UK. That’s why it’s so great to know which of their flavours are vegan!
It might surprise you to know that one of the many flavours in their vegan crisps range is their prawn cocktail crisps! How they achieve that, I don’t know. All I know is that they taste fab.
Walkers Vegan Crisps Flavours:
- Walkers Ready Salted
- Walkers Salt and Vinegar
- Walkers Prawn Cocktail
- Walkers Worcester Sauce
Fun Fact: Did you know that Walkers Crisps are called Lays in most other countries?
3. Pringles
Source: Amazon
The old saying is true – ‘once you pop, you can’t stop!’
Pringles is one of my favourite crisps because they come in a tube, meaning that you don’t get a packet of vegan crisps that is 50% air.
The OG Pringles flavour (Pringles original) is one of their epic vegan crisps options, but there are five more flavours of vegan crisps available from Pringles!
Pringles Vegan Crisps Flavours:
- Pringles Original
- Pringles Sweet Chili
- Pringles Paprika
- Pringles Smokey Bacon Flavour
- Pringles Texas BBQ Sauce
- Pringles Original Tortilla Chips
However, if you’re vegan AND gluten-free – pringles vegan crisps aren’t going to be an option for you because they all contain gluten.
4. Pop Chips
Source: Tesco
If you’re interested in a healthier option than the classic deep-fried-potato-kind of vegan crisps, then Popchips is a fantastic option for you!
Their chips are ‘popped’ with heat and pressure – meaning that they aren’t fried or baked. There is NO OIL used in the cooking process. Amazing right?
Even though they aren’t deep-fried in oil, they are still light, crispy and packed with flavour. So are Pop Chips vegan? Some of them are!
Popchips Vegan Crisps Flavours:
- Popchips Sea Salt
- Popchips Barbeque
- Popchips Sea Salt & Vinegar
- Tangy BBQ Popchips Ridges
- Popchips Peanut Butter Nutter Puffs
Did you know that one of the main reasons that Popchips are popped, not fried, is because it allows you to eat crisps more quietly?
5. Emily Fruit and Veg Crisps

Fruit crisps? Yup. You read that right.
If you’re looking to enjoy the crunchy, savoury goodness of a satisfying packet of vegan crisps but don’t fancy eating some of the fattier, carb-ier (is that a word?) crisps on this list – I have the perfect option for you!
Emily’s!
Emily’s crisps are all made from different fruits and vegetables, like carrots, sweet potatoes, and apples (which are high in fibre!)Source: Amazon.
All Emily crisps are certified vegan – so it doesn’t matter which product you choose; it’s all plant-based!
