What is the book (or books) you’ve given most as a gift, and why?

The Alchemist. I have probable read this story 10 times and each time with a renewed excitement to see the story unfold. It's an amazing story about taking risks, following dreams and integrity.

When You Feel Overwhelmed Or Unfocused, Or Have Lost Your Focus Temporarily, What Do You Do?

I ask myself why I do the things that I do. My why is vey important to me. It allows me to return to the core purpose of my work. Also, I have learnt the value of taking a break and resting to recharge so I'll step away for a bit to do something that brings me joy.

In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?

Taking each day at a time. That is, letting go of the past and not being anxiuos about the future. The present is the best place to be.

Tell us about your business. What does it do and what value do you add?

My company is KINU Health & Wellness, an online nutrition consulting service that seeks to help people build a good relationship with food to prevent and/or manage chronic illness. I am a registered dieititian nutritionist who loves everything food so a big part of what I do it to show people that healthy food is also really tasty.

Where do you see your industry in the next 5 years?

Health has become front and centre for a lot of people especially with the rise of lifestyle diseases and a worldwide pandemic. Nutrition and dietetics will be a globally recognised industry.

How has Covid-19 changed your industry?

Globally, e-healthcare has brought our services to people's living rooms.

If you could only do ONE type of exercise for the all around fitness what would it be?


What are bad recommendations you hear in your profession or area of expertise?

Restricting of specifics foods without scientific- proof. Fad diets suck! Every person is different and should be treated as such.

What is one of the best or most worthwhile investments you’ve ever made?

Investing in my networks.

What advice would you give to a smart, driven college student about to enter the “real world”? What advice should they ignore?

Have a plan but be open to the possibilities of where life could take you.

What careers advice would you give to your 21-year old self?

Just start!

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Carpentry...I like to work with my hands.
